Also please note, Get Inked fully supports the PTAA and their stance on all backyard tattooing, and Get Inked will only support and endorse artists and studio's that are health dept approved. We will not support anyone who is not working in a health dept approved studio or workplace, and will not offer any form of tips or advice to anyone who is a backyard tattooist. Bendigo home raided21 Sep, 2011 03:06 PM A BENDIGO home has been raided and equipment relating to an alleged illegal tattooing business seized. Environmental health officers from the City of Greater Bendigo organised the raid after receiving a number of complaints from the public about alleged underage and illegal tattooing practices. Bendigo police assisted the council in the raid. COGB director of planning and environment Prue Mansfield urged people thinking of getting a tattoo to ensure they keep themselves safe and healthy by only dealing with registered tattoo businesses. “Unregistered tattoo businesses pose a significant public health risk to anyone who receives a tattoo from them,'' she said. “If it’s not done safely, tattooing by its very nature has serious public health risks such as the transmission of minor and major infections including AIDS, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, tetanus and other blood-born diseases. “There is no guarantee that an unregistered tattooist takes the necessary precautions to sterilize equipment and this could pose a significant risk to the person getting a tattoo. It’s simply not worth the risk." Tattoo businesses need to be registered by the City of Greater Bendigo before they can operate legally. Ms Mansfield said anyone considering getting a tattoo should always ask to see a tattooist certificate of registration. “It is illegal for anybody to tattoo a member of the public without one. It is also illegal to tattoo anyone under the age of 18," she said. "These are serious offences and penalties up to $36,600 may apply." |

Dr Rev Bloodpainter, On Sunday 18 September Dr Rev made history by being the first person to be surgically attached to his Anest Iwata Airbrush, An 18 gauge needle was inserted into his arm by a professional nurse and then attached via tube to the airbrush, Having this done it was then possible to paint using blood straight from his vein, Dr Rev then proceded to painted the most amazing gorilla face using only his own blood straight from the vein. "NO INK OR PAINT IS USED IN Dr REV BLOODPAINTINGS" (unless a colaberation is done with another artist)
